Ideell Förening? Now that our amazing Q2 After School Program is over, we spoke to Jens Berglind, who took part as a volunteer. We at Toca Boca want kids to continue looking to our games to see themselves represented in a safe and inspiring way, regardless of their gender identity or who they love.Ī huge thanks to Adrian and everyone involved for such a great event! ![]() He also spoke about storytelling as a powerful tool for challenging norms, and gave some tips, tricks and inspiration on how to tell stories that portray marginalized and queer characters.īy learning more about LGBTQ+ representation, we can lean into the diversity that has made our games successful among children worldwide, and celebrate the spirit of diversity that’s encouraged among Toca Boca’s employees. The event was a great opportunity for us to expand participants’ ideas about what it means to portray marginalized and queer characters, and to be inspired to go against the grain when showing under-represented groups.Īdrian explained how the stories we tell are filtered through ourselves and our biases. Our CSR Inclusion group organized an amazing LGBTQ+ Representation in Culture and Media workshop led by trans activist and comic book genius Adrian Malmgren. We also know that the job is never done, and we always want to learn how we can be more inclusive with our storytelling and the experiences we provide. This year, the fair was themed ‘For Bright and Creative Generations’ and was full of school kids aged between 10 to 15.Īt our stall, kids got to read about the processes behind game development, take pictures with a wall of our iconic Toca Boca characters, download and play Toca Life World and even get a sneak peek of something still in development.
